Tour program
Day 1: Departure and road to Cantabria
- In the morning - departure from the selected city (Torrevieja, Alicante, Benidorm, Valencia or Madrid)
- During the day, travel to northern Spain with short stops along the way for snacks (own expense)
- In the evening - arrival at the hotel, accommodation in rooms
- Dinner and rest
Day 2: Castro Urdiales, Laredo and Santander – the coastal charm of Cantabria
- Breakfast at the hotel
In the morning - excursion to Castro Urdiales : an ancient fishing town with the Gothic church of Santa Maria , a picturesque bay and a medieval atmosphere
- Visit Laredo : 4 km long white sand beach, cozy port and panoramic views from the observation deck
- Return to the hotel for lunch
In the afternoon, excursion to Santander with a licensed guide:
- Stroll through the elegant Mataleñas Square
- The Sardinero coast is one of the most prestigious in the region
- Visit the picturesque peninsula of La Magdalena , the former royal residence
- Return to the hotel, dinner and rest
Day 3: Picos de Europa, Santo Toribio Monastery and Potes – the heart of the Cantabrian highlands (optional excursion)
- Breakfast at the hotel
Departure to the Picos de Europa National Park, one of the most picturesque natural areas in Spain
- On the way, stop in Fuente De - optional, cable car ride to the Del Cable viewpoint (for an extra fee, depending on weather conditions)
- Visit to the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana , where the largest fragment of the Holy Cross in the world is kept
- Lunch at the restaurant
In the afternoon - a walk through the city of Potes , the capital of the Liebana region. Visit the Del Infantado Tower , old streets and cozy courtyards
- Return to the hotel, dinner and rest
Day 4: Santonya, Santillana del Mar and Comillas - traditions, gastronomy and architecture
- Breakfast at the hotel
In the morning, excursion to Santoña , one of the most important fishing ports in Spain:
- Walk along the picturesque embankment
- Visit to anchovy and seafood factory (entrance included)
- Optional boat ride along Santoña Bay (tickets paid separately)
- Return to the hotel for lunch
In the afternoon - excursion with a licensed guide
- A walk through medieval Santillana del Mar , "the town where everything is a museum"
Next up is Comillas :
- Visit to the El Capriccio building (Gaudi's project)
- The majestic palace of Sobrellano
- The Jesuit University towers over the city
- Return to the hotel, dinner and rest
Day 5: San Sebastian and Getaria – the elegance and maritime soul of the Basque Country (optional excursion)
- Breakfast at the hotel
In the morning - departure to San Sebastian , one of the most beautiful cities in northern Spain
- Excursion with a local guide (first half of the day):
- Walk along the famous La Concha Bay and its picturesque beaches
- A tour of the modern Kursaal Congress Palace
- Visit the old town with the cozy Constitution Square , 19th century architecture and the atmosphere of Basque life
- Lunch at the restaurant
- Trip to the west coast of the province of Gipuzkoa
- Passing through the city of Zarautz and arriving in the fishing town of Getaria , the birthplace of the navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano
- Walking along narrow streets, viewing platforms overlooking the ocean, cozy port atmosphere
- Return to the hotel, dinner and rest
Day 6: Bilbao – a cultural capital with industrial charm
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Departure to Bilbao , the largest city in the Basque Country, surrounded by hills and history
Tour with a local guide:
- An external view of the Guggenheim Museum , a symbol of modern Bilbao
- Visit to the Basilica of Begoña (16th century) - the spiritual center of the city
- Walking tour of the historic center , visiting the Museum of Fine Arts , the Doña Casilda Iturriza Park , the promenade and the Marítimo de Bilbao Maritime Museum
Free time in the afternoon
- Opportunity to stroll through the old town
- Visiting museums, shops or cozy restaurants
- Lunch is optional and at your own expense. We recommend trying traditional pintxos , the Basque version of tapas.
- Return to the hotel, dinner and rest
Day 7: Returning Home
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Departure on the return journey
- Along the way - stops for rest and snacks (at your own expense)
- Arrival at the departure point along the route
