🎉 El Cerca Summer School - 18th season, over 300 participants

👧🏻👦🏻 Education and fun for children aged 6 to 12 this summer in Alicante

The Consumer Education Resource Centre (Cerca), located in the Central Market of Alicante, is holding the 18th edition of its Summer School under the slogan “Cooking with a Smile” (Cocinando Sonrisas).
From June 25 to September 5, more than 300 children aged 6 to 12 years old take part in educational and culinary classes, creative workshops and excursions.

🥗 Learning healthy eating through play

The camp program includes:

  • daily cooking master classes with professional nutritionists,
  • creative activities and ecological master classes ,
  • excursions , classes in science, robotics , dance and sports,
  • and even their own “Master Chef” competition for children , where they create their own signature dishes.

Each day, participants prepare healthy recipes and learn how to use seasonal and local produce. After cooking, children either taste the dish on the spot or take it home to share with their families.

🌱 The goal is to grow conscious and healthy consumers

According to Lydia Lopez , consumer advisor:

"The El Cerca Summer School continues our educational programs in schools. We teach children to play, think, take care of their health and the environment from a very early age."

The camp's methodology is based on practical learning and project activities . This makes the process fun and educational - children spend their summer usefully, meet new friends and learn valuable life skills.

🧠 Educational goals and sustainable development

The Summer School is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs/ODS) , such as:

  • forming healthy habits ,
  • respect for the environment,
  • support of local culture and products ,
  • emotional and artistic development of children.

📅 There are still some free places!

Registration is ongoing - there are still available places in shifts in July and August.
