Five companies bid for biggest street repair contract in Alicante

The new contract is worth 8 million euros, double the previous one, and is for 4 years.

The contract for the maintenance of sidewalks, squares and public spaces in the city of Alicante has been doubled from 4.1 to 8 million euros . It will be one of the most significant in terms of budget and scope of tasks in the infrastructure sector and will be valid for the next four years, with a possible extension of one year.

🏗 Who participates in the tender?

Five major construction companies and consortiums (UTE) are vying for the contract:

  • Pavasal Enterprise Constructor
  • ACSA Education and Infrastructure
  • Tecnología de la Construcción y Obras Públicas
  • Consortium Mediterráneo de Obras y Asfaltos and Aceinsa
  • Consortium Asfaltos y Construcciones Aitana and Vías y Obras Aitana

The consideration of tender proposals began at a meeting of the tender committee, where the first envelopes with documentation were opened.

🛠 What does the work include?

The contract provides for:

  • Maintenance and repair of sidewalks, squares, roads and urban infrastructure elements
  • Quickly repair minor damages such as broken manholes, broken curbs or cracked sidewalks
  • Improving the accessibility and safety of urban spaces

All requests are divided by urgency: from 4 hours (in emergency cases) to 15 days (for less critical violations).

👷♂️ Work without days off

According to the terms of the contract, the contractor must have six mobile teams equipped with everything necessary: vehicles, tools and small equipment for prompt response every day and seven days a week .

This infrastructure project is an important step towards renewing the urban environment of Alicante , improving the quality of life and safety of residents.
