Alicante to complete €3.6m La Torreta Park
The new green oasis with recreation areas, sports grounds, a stage and children's attractions will become one of the best parks in the city
The Alicante City Council has approved the tender for the completion of the Isla de Corfú Park in the La Torreta-PAU II area. The work will cost €3.63 million and will take 6 months to complete. The project covers more than 20,000 m² and includes the creation of a modern, multifunctional urban park .
What will be in the park: green areas, sports and children's entertainment
The park is designed as a dynamic space with different levels and functional zones:
- Stage with amphitheater for events
- Three play areas , including inclusive elements for children with disabilities
- 28-meter bungee
- 9 large slides between the park terraces
- Rope climbs along the slopes
- Sports facilities : calisthenics area, exercise machines, petanque courts and a climbing wall
- Landscaping with ornamental bushes and shade areas
- Public infrastructure : benches, lighting, navigation
An original approach to greening and accessibility
Particular attention is paid to landscape design : trees and shrubs are planted according to the color seasons , creating a visually changing landscape throughout the year. Inclusive play elements will appear, such as tactile panels, adapted swings, ramps and sound effects .
"The completion of La Torreta Park is an important step towards creating one of the best green spaces in the city. This project will provide residents and tourists with a place for active recreation, walks and meetings," said Rocío Gómez , urban development councilor.
Infrastructure for all ages and needs
The park unites the interests of different age groups . All objects - from playgrounds to sports areas - are interconnected, which makes the territory accessible, safe and comfortable .
The project will become the new green heart of Alicante , a sought-after place for recreation, sports, socializing and city events.
