Thousands of candles illuminate San Gabriel: a historic evening in Alicante
Alicante's Candle Night: A Celebration of Light and Tradition
On Saturday, July 12, 2025 , district San Gabriel in Alicante Immersed myself in a magical atmosphere thanks to the festival "The Night of Candles" (La Noche de Candiles) . More 2000 lights lit up the streets in honor 100th anniversary of the district's electrification , and hundreds of guests enjoyed music, markets and special promotions from local stores.
The organizers were Municipality of Alicante And San Gabriel Business Association . The event was not only a tribute to history, but also a successful campaign to support local businesses.
How was the holiday?
1. Lights of the past and present
The streets were decorated thousands of candles , creating a romantic atmosphere. This is how residents honored the memory of 1925, when electricity was first installed in San Gabriel.
2. Concerts and dancing until the morning
From 6:00 pm to 2:00 am, guests enjoyed performances by Spanish artists:
