Alicante to improve kindergartens in summer 2025

Scheduled repairs will be carried out in two municipal schools - Els Xiquets and Siete Enanitos

Alicante, 20 July 2025. As part of the annual plan for the maintenance of educational infrastructure, the City of Alicante is carrying out internal and external renovation work on two municipal kindergartens in the city. The total budget is 10,500 euros , and all work is scheduled to be completed before the start of the new school year, on 8 September 2025 .

What work is being done?

Els Xiquets Kindergarten (budget: 4,000 euros)

The renovation began with the external area of the institution. The following works are being carried out:

• Sanding and painting of pedestrian and car entrance doors
• Replacing doors on a kitchen terrace
• Updating a built-in closet in one of the classrooms
• Repair and painting of the floor and ceiling in the kitchen chamber
• Installation of electrical cable channels
• Replacing mosquito nets on windows

"These works solve urgent problems and are carried out during the summer so as not to interfere with the educational process," emphasized Maricarmen de España , Education Advisor, during the inspection visit.

Total: 100 seats

• Group 1 - 0-1 year
• 2 groups - 1-2 years
• 2 groups - 2-3 years
• 2 groups - 1-3 years
• Academic year: September 8 to July 22

Renovations at Siete Enanitos kindergarten (budget: 6,500 euros)

The work is being carried out jointly with the Department of Infrastructure under the direction of Cristina Garcia . List of activities:

• Installing new water points in the main yard
• Installation of a storage chamber in the kitchen area
• Relocation of property from the old building (until the end of July)

The teaching process is temporarily carried out on the premises of the former Antonio Ramos Carratalá school.

Since June 3, the lists of finally enrolled children have been posted on the stands of the Patronage of kindergartens and in both institutions. Parents can see the results of the recruitment for the academic year 2025-2026.
