Alicante celebrates Pride Week with a vibrant programme of cultural, sporting and festive events

🏳️🌈 From July 14 to 19, the city will host a series of events in support of the LGBTIQ+ community

"Alicante con Orgullo": A week dedicated to visibility, culture and equality

The City Council of Alicante, together with the main LGBTIQ+ associations in the city, have presented a rich programme of events dedicated to Alicante Pride Week , which will take place from 14 to 19 July .

The main goal of the festival is to promote equality, respect for diversity and support for local communities through art, sports and collective events.

📚 Cultural program

  • July 14, 19:00
    The documentary film "Invertidos" (House of the Mediterranean) is a look at the history of the persecution of the LGBTI community during the dictatorship.

    Presentation of the book "FIAT LUX" in the bookstore 80 Mundos - about the history and philosophy of trans-identities.
  • July 14, 19:00
    El Pollito at Casa del Libro is a touching and satirical story about memory and identity.
  • July 15, 19:00
    Homage to Toni Forat , a well-known activist, in the El Claustro building.
  • July 16, 19:00
    An evening of LGTBI cinema, dance and music at Caja Negra, Las Cigarreras.
  • July 17, 19:00
    Theater Drag show “Pakita & Laca Udilla” (Caja Negra, Las Cigarreras).
  • July 17, 19:00
    Presentation of the De Mar a Mar foundation – support for elderly LGBTIQ+ people (at Canibal Pub).

🌱 Environmental initiative

    Cala Cantalar Beach : voluntary action to collect waste and be environmentally conscious.

🏐 Sports and tourism

    Beach Volleyball Tournament in San Juan Beach - Sport, inclusion and support for safe spaces.

🎉 Festive events

  • July 18, 21:00
    LGTBI party "Hoguera Los Ángeles" - open-air celebration (Explanada de Teulada).
  • July 19, 19:00
    Main Event: Manifestation and Gala Fiesta
    — The procession will start from Plaza Luceros and end at Plaza Ayuntamiento.
    — The program includes: 16 artists, more than 4 hours of live show and a festive atmosphere .
    Around 25,000 people are expected to participate.
