The Alicante Journalists' Association wins the Pencil and Spoon Healthy Cooking Competition!

🍅 Best recipes: gazpacho señoret, cannelloni maruja and melon stuffed with watermelon

Alicante, 4 June 2025The Alicante Provincial Journalists Association has won the prestigious healthy eating competitionLápiz y Cuchara ” (translated as Pencil and Spoon ), organised by the Alicante City Hall and the Centre for Educational Resources on Consumption ( Cerca ).

🏆 In the 2025 final, the Cocinappa team surprised the jury with an original, balanced and healthy menu:

  • 🥣 gazpacho senoret
  • 🍝 cannelloni maruja
  • 🍉 watermelon stuffed with fresh fruits

🥈 Second and third place - for the San Rafael Center

🎉 The San Rafael Center received two prizes at once:

  • 🥈 The "Amb gust i saler" team - gazpacho a la maritime, stuffed artichokes and cherry mousse
  • 🥉 Team "Delantales mágicos" - cod with pistou, stuffed mushrooms and orange mousse

👩🍳 Support from the city administration

The final of the competition was attended by Lidia Lopez , Advisor for Consumption, Trade and Markets, who presented the prizes and noted the importance of such events:

"This competition has become a tradition in Alicante, and this year it is especially important because we are the Gastronomic Capital of Spain . Such initiatives promote local products, healthy eating and the gastronomic heritage of our city."


👥 Who took part in the competition?

Seven teams from associations and social organizations took part in the culinary competition, including:

  • Association of Journalists
  • San Rafael Center
  • Organization of paralytics of Alicante
  • Dominican Union of Alicante
  • Aspen Association
  • Estima Foundation

🧑⚖️ How were the winners chosen?

The jury consisted of:

  • 🌟 Famous chefs from Alicante restaurants
  • 👩⚕️ Representatives of the Association for Nutrition, Sports and Health
  • 👨🎓 Students of the Faculty of Nutrition of the University of Alicante
  • 👩💼 Lydia Lopez
  • 🏛 Representatives of the municipality and the Cerca Center

Evaluation criteria:

✔️ Use of healthy ingredients
✔️ Balance and harmony of the menu
✔️ Serving and decorating dishes
✔️ Clear recipes
✔️ Creativity and originality


🌱 The Pencil and Spoon program will continue

The competition is part of the “Lápiz y Cuchara” project, initiated by the Cerca Center , and aims to:

  • 🥗 Formation of healthy eating habits
  • 🛒 Responsible consumption
  • 👨👩👧👦 Social integration through cooking
  • 📚 Education through practice

🎊 Cooking as a way to unite is the main message of the competition, and Alicante continues to confidently promote a healthy lifestyle and local gastronomy !
