The 1st Elche-Alicante International Marathon , which will start on November 30 at 9:00 am at the Altamira Palace in Elche, will not only be a mass sporting event, but also the arena for the Valencian Community Championship in the marathon distance (42 km) . This was officially announced by the organizers from the Montemar Athletic Club .
🥇 New route, new motivation: regional athletes in the fight for the title
From today onwards, the marathon is included in the official calendar of the Comunidad Valenciana Athletics Federation , which adds sporting prestige to the event.
Until now, the regional championship was held as part of the Valencia Marathon, but in 2025 it will be held for the first time as part of the Elche-Alicante Marathon , which will take place a week before Valencia .
📈 Almost 3,000 registered participants - goal: 5,000 runners
The organizers note a steady growth of interest: about 3,000 participants have already registered. The maximum number set for the first edition of the marathon is 5,000 people .

The marathon is almost completely flat , making it suitable for both professionals and amateurs:
- Start : Elche, next to the Altamira Palace (80 m above sea level)
- Finish : Port of Alicante, Muelle 12, Ocean Race area (at sea level)

- 🛣️ 20 km - highway between Elche and Alicante
- 🌆 11 km - center of Alicante
