
🍽️ Alicante Gastronomy Debuts at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid
Alicante is confidently declaring itself as the gastronomic capital of Spain in 2025. As part of the campaign “Alicante, sabor que conquista Madrid” (Alicante - the taste that conquers Madrid), a spectacular presentation was held at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where the city demonstrated the richness of its cuisine to more than 100 gastronomic professionals .
👨🍳 Alicante's best chefs on the gastronomic scene
The event, organised by the Alicante Restaurant Association (ARA) , brought together prominent figures from the restaurant industry:
- Maria Jose San Roman ( El Monastrell )
- Janie Perramon ( La Taberna del Gourmet )
- Pablo Montoro ( Espacio Montoro )
- Juan Luis Parra ( Restaurante Koiné )
- They presented a tasting menu inspired by local produce and traditions of the region.
🍚 Menu stars - products from the land and sea of Alicante
The key elements of the presentation were dishes reflecting the gastronomic heritage of Alicante :
- Arroz a banda and creamed rice
- Dishes with turron , medlar from Callosa
- Vega Baja Suckling Goat
- Asparagus from Villena
🎯 The goal of the campaign is to promote tourism and local cuisine
Mayor Luis Barcala stressed:
"We want Madrid to discover or fall in love with the taste of Alicante . We know how to cook – and we are proud of it."
Tourism Secretary José Manuel Camarero , the president of the Spanish Hotel Federation and other officials also supported the initiative.
🏆 Alicante as a gastronomic brand
ARA President Gabriela Cordoba noted:
“Alicante’s gastronomy is the result of the efforts of the entire production chain: from agriculture and fishing to restaurants and markets.”

- Vice President of the Spanish Academy of Gastronomy
- Participants of Salón Gourmet and the Federation of Tourism Journalists
