
Alicante strengthens ties with Germany at first joint business forum
Impulsalicante and ALIA unite business communities of two countries
Alicante, 6 June 2025 – The Puerta Ferrisa Auditorium hosted the 1st Spanish-German Business Forum , organised by the Alicante Chamber of Commerce , ALIA (Agency for Investment Promotion of the City Hall) and the Honorary Consulate of Germany in Alicante, led by Nuria López von Kapf .
The forum became an important step in the development of international cooperation between Alicante and Germany , bringing together representatives of business, diplomatic missions and government agencies of the two countries.
The main goal is to strengthen economic ties
The event was aimed at expanding economic ties and attracting investment to the region. Participants discussed prospects for business cooperation , opportunities to enter new markets and tools to support companies working with Germany.
Participants included representatives of leading companies in the province: Actiu, GDV and Torre Juana , who shared their experience of international expansion and work in the German market .

The forum was opened by the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala , who stressed the importance of Germany as a strategic economic partner . He noted that:
- Alicante is the fifth region in Spain by GDP ;
- The number of companies in the regional capital has exceeded 25,000 ;
- The city's industrial sector is growing, demonstrating active business development.
Luis Barcala also drew attention to the unique advantages of the region - mild climate, convenient logistics, quality of life , accessibility and high innovative potential .

- Carlos Bagno , President of the Chamber of Commerce of Alicante.

- Georg Schulze Zumkley , Counselor for Economics and Science at the German Embassy;
- Walter von Plettenberg , Director of the German-Spanish Chamber of Commerce (AHK);
- Markus Kemper , Deputy Director of Market Consulting at AHK.

- The economic policy of the new German government ;
- Opportunities for Spanish companies in the German market ;
- Support and consulting services for businesses planning to expand into Germany.

Forum participants held individual meetings with AHK representatives , where they discussed specific investment and trade projects in key sectors .
