💙 Alicante presents charity cheques to three associations

📍 Alicante, 6 June 2025The Blue Room of the Alicante City Hall hosted a ceremony to present the charity cheques to the organisations Alinur , APSA and the Jorge Talavera Foundation . Each organisation received €2,433 , collected during the charity bars held during the 2024 New Year and 2025 Carnival celebrations. The total amount raised was €7,299 .

🎁 What are charity bars?

This initiative has been running for 11 years now as part of a collaboration between:

  • Alicante City Hall
  • Association of catering and leisure establishments ALROA
  • and the Soho-Baviera restaurant space.

🍸 During the mass celebrations, special bars are set up, the profits from which are directed to social and inclusive projects . This time, bars were placed on New Year's Eve and on Ramblero Saturday during the carnival.

🧾 Who were the checks given to?

APSA – Chairperson Nito Manero said the funds will go towards paying for the treatment of a child whose family cannot afford the costs.

Alinur – President Leonor Martinez emphasized the importance of donations:

"It helps us fight for the rights, inclusion and quality of life of those we represent."

Jorge Talavera FoundationJorge Talavera himself expressed gratitude for ALROA’s continuous support , which is “so essential to work with those in need.”
